Purple District

Welcome to the Purple District Website!

Purple District members reside in the eclectic Eastown neighborhood, Ottawa Hills, and East Grand Rapids.  Your District Leader is Judy Botts and she can be contacted at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  We come together to socialize and to support the three on-going focus areas of Fountain Street Church: education, environmental sustainability, and social action issues. Our goal is "to grow connections" among our members by way of a variety of activities we participate in.  Some of those events include:

*Hosting Soup Luncheons with the Orange District each year

*Potluck gatherings at FSC

*Potluck dinners held at congregants' homes

*Assembling and delivering Welcome Baskets for new Dwelling Place residents

*Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast at local eateries

*Assisting with the Christmas Elf Project

*Hosting Bingo Night at Ferguson Place, (a Dwelling Place community)

*Assisting with Memorial Services

*Assisting District members with rides and meals

*Setting up for the All-Church Picnic

You can check the Friday emailing of "the Flash" (an e-mail sent to congregants each Friday detailing the events for the coming Sunday), the Weekly Notes, which are inserted into the weekly Church Order of Service and the monthly publication of "The Chimes" to keep abreast of District happenings. If you need to send us a message or if you wish to be added to our e-mail list so that you can receive Purple District news, please e-mail Judy Botts at: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Sunday, March 2 - After the Worship Service, we will gather in Room 109 for a "Finger Food Potluck" to get organized for packing 10 baskets for Dwelling Place.  Please bring any items you have collected for this purpose at this time.

As dates draw closer, details of each event will be printed in the Friday Flash, District e-mail messages, Sunday Orders of Service, and The Chimes.
